After temporarily moving back to my hometown Bratislava in 2020, I took my exploration of my cultural heritage further and created a small fashion brand that would help me explore and celebrate my ‘slovakness’.
A melange of eccentric, classy and strange, odd Janko draws on elements
of Slovak decorative folk dress and symbolism, and the old Central European charm.
The collection features a range of wearable art creations for grown-up eccentrics, offering an elevated and sophisticated clothing line, infused with the drama
and melancholy of my Motherland.
Because this is my passion project, I create most of my visuals myself.

New odd Janko and Death Becomes Them Hangtags
At odd Janko, I constantly strive to strike the best possible balance between responsible
and environmentally friendly sourcing, production, and quality. In September 2024, I launched the Death Becomes Them line- a collection of upcycled, individually selected vintage and pre-owned pieces, to grow odd Janko inventory in a sustainable and creative way. With two lines under one brand, I knew I had to update our branding to keep consistency in our story while differentiating between the two lines. I kept the traditional folk fabric pattern as the base for the visuals. The odd Janko tags are black and white, and more ornate- the core line is made from organic fabrics in a small workshop in limited runs and the visuals communicate the luxury feel and price point of the line. The Death Becomes Them line is one-off pre-loved garments, reworked in odd Janko aesthetic. This is a more experimental, playful, and financially more accessible line, and I communicated that through the soft pink gradient and type. odd Janko items come in various sizes, the back has space for a printed price label. DBT items are all one-offs, that's why there is a designated rectangle frame on the back of the tags for hand-written item names and prices.
